Your identity and results
It is very important for a person to look at the different phases.
The phases in order are:
- Identity
- A person needs to first define who he/she identifies with.
- e.g. I believe I am a people person (says a manager)
- Values
- With the above identity, the person will now need to understand what values are needed to be a people person.
- Skill set
- With this identity defined, you need to understand the skill sets needed to become a better people manager and work towards it.
- Behaviours
- Once you firmly believe in the identity and have identified the values and skillset needed, there will be a conscious change in your behaviour.
- A person can also imbibe the skills and make a conscious change.
- Results
- The above will reflect in the results.
- It will also give a clarity if the environment is correct for the person to grow with the identity he/she has defined for himself/herself.
- Sometimes, it may lead to a new job/change of boss/change of environment etc.
